Mexico: Cozumel – Underwater Paradise

We experience drift and wall diving as we explore the largest barrier reef in the Western hemisphere off the Island of Cozumel in Mexico. The Mesoamerica Reef is the second largest in the world and comprises 65 different coral reef species. The Giana Current that flows across this area flushes out the flora and fauna providing a clarity and visibility that is almost unsurpassed in the Caribbean waters. It allows you to see miles of coral reef as you swim with over 250 species of tropical fish, as well as turtles and stingrays. The town of San Miguel offers an above ground break with Mayan handicrafts that give insight to the Island’s cultural origins.
