Parry Sound, Ontario: In Search of White Gold

At the onset of winter we travel to Parry Sound in Northern Ontario in search of White Gold and experience the fun of a polar bear swim, ice-fishing, dog sledding, snow-shoeing and snowmobiling. We discover a major system of wilderness trails where snowmobiling is a way of life and sometimes the only form of transportation. Our visit takes us dog-sledding through spectacular winter scenery and snow-shoeing with a guide from the local naturalist’s organization to learn about wildlife survival. We end our adventure with a sleigh ride. For more information: check out episode #60 in the Railway Adventures across Canada category.
