The Boreal Forest: 1. Creation

“Creation” is the first in an 8-part series that takes an in-depth look at the formation of the Boreal Forest and its intrinsic eco-systems. Often referred to as the ‘lungs of the earth’, the forest wraps itself around the top half of the world and is characterized by long cold winters. The series features Prince Albert National Park in Northern Saskatchewan, Canada, and, combined with animation, reveals the evolution of the forest from when life began under the oceans, through the glacial ages, to today’s challenges of global warming.
